up, up and away

So, it's been a while. (It doesn't help I can't figure out how the heck to get on here...)

Anyway. Top point of news? My computer's dead. Well, not the computer, but the power cord. For whatever reason, it decided to die a week ago. It no longer converts electricity, but that's alright: I need a new computer anyway. I'm on my mom's at the time being. Woopee. The sound didn't work too well sometimes on my laptop. The fan sucked. It was getting a little slow. It was a good computer for all $300 worth, but it's past its lifeline. It lasted me three years and I'm ready to move on. Fare thee well, you well-used piece of computer.

On Friday, I'll be heading off to CA for a wedding. I'm coming back Sunday. Leaving Friday means I miss not only the first home game of the season, but I also miss an art field trip to St. Louis to visit the art museums. I couldn't care less about the game, but I'm kinda sad about the art trip. I guess there will be more, but... Darnit! Gosh durn relatives, always taking weddings and crap when I'm in school. Grr.

In other news, ... there isn't much other news. On the weekend of the 28th, I'm off to Savannah to look at the art college there and have a good long mom-and-daughter weekend. Should be fun! Mom's heard nothing but good things about Savannah.

Anyway, got homework to do. People to call. You know. The normal stuff.

nothing special

So, nothing overtly exciting happened today. I went to school, went to work, came home and now I'm here.

We should be getting our Orphan pictures in soon, for AP Art. I'm really quite excited. It'll be a fun project, not to mention rewarding, right? AP Stat was a quiz today, French we wrote, Brit Lit... did nothing, really. Anatomy we went over review for a test Thursday (it was tomorrow, but we convinced her to change it), but I'm pretty sure you don't want to hear about that, hehe.

Nothing all that much happened. Uneventful! (But I guess that's a good thing.)
Although, I might consider doing the "NaNoWriMo" or whatever, where you write a 50k word book in a month. That's in November.

On the 21st, I go to CA! Woopee! My cousin's getting married. I get to have In'N'Out! *jig*

Anyway, I should get to my Anatomy lab. Tata!

no checkers?

So, today, after having Gina leave (around 9), my mom and I went out to give my car a new tire and shop around at Goodwills for something she was looking for. Got some new clothes that are pretty cute, and then we dropped by JoAnn's Frabics. We ended up staying there for two hours looking for fabric and crap. I want to be a Jester for Halloween, so I'm making it myself (woohoo). The fabric I got was really pretty stuff: black and white checker cotton, pale gold silky, brocaded transitional blue silky, and white cotton. It'll be awesome. I got some bells too. Teehee.

Well... got home. I took a nap, and I got up a half an hour ago. Not an overly exciting day, but the shopping took up most of my time. I still have to finish homework and do that toolkit for Mrs. Brawner. Dangit. Oh well, I'll work on that. I only have some Anatomy, Stat, and that. Plus a peacock drawing.

(Oh, by the way? The school's filter system SUCKS. I googled peacock and it wouldn't let me search cause it had the word "cock" in it. Isn't that great? It lets you get into places you don't want to be and keeps you out of places you want to go. I hate it.)

Note to self: make an appointment with an admissions person with Savannah.

That wasp sting I got doesn't hurt, but it itches like crazy every so often and I HAVE to scratch it. Bad idea. It's still swollen and kinda hurts now... And it's really hot. Ice helps, but only so much. Oh well.

Here's for today. See you tomorrow, kiddies!

animals

So, yesterday, I had an appointment with an admissions staff member at the Illinois Institute of Art-Shaumburg (which, by the way, I will never remember the name of). There was still carnage I had to clean up from the can-wars, so I got up and was working on them when I got stung (without reason aside from simply being there) by a wasp. Little bitches hurt.

Anyway, after mourning my poor finger, I took a shower and my mom and I got off to a late start; dad was going to come with us originally, but he stayed behind to do the rest of the cans for me. Around 12:30, I called the person we were supposed to meet to explain I was going to be late... and then 30 minutes later called her again to say that we were stuck in construction traffic.

Since it was obvious we weren't going to make it to the Institute in time for anything, mom and I decided that, since we didn't want to waste a trip to Chicago, we'd go to the zoo in place of the college. (There's not that much difference between a college and a zoo anyway, right?) So we went. It was a lot of fun, actually, although they needed more animals. They had a surplus of displays. We hung out there for four or so hours, had food, saw the penguins, the lion, the bears and a giraffe, among other things. Good ol' zoo fun, I say. We ended up getting home at 9-ish.

Tonight, Gina's supposed to come over and we're going to have an Anatomy party. We have a test on Wednesday, not to mention a bunch of other crap we could/have to do. (God darnit, this wasp sting is freaking itchy!) So, do our Anatomy, have some snacks, watch some movies. Should be fun.

I have to call back Stacy at the Institute- and set up an appointment with someone from Savana Art Institute in Georgia. So far, I haven't done much today except go to Wal-Mart to drop off my car for an oil change and tire rotation and attempt to go to Goodwill. Probably won't do much than that. Maybe clean my room.

That's all for today, folks.
What does tomorrow have in store!

the beginning

It's about time I set up someplace where I can come to chatter endlessly about things that don't matter. Why now, if at any time at all? Well, I'm forgetful. One of my best friends is at college now and a blog is an easy solution to the lack in ability to call every day. I want to know what I did twenty days ago, even if it doesn't mean anything to anyone else. You never know!

Anyway, so here I am. New blog, fresh up, and still in progress. Should be interesting.

Here's to the good times ahead, my fellow blog and I!
